The nation's biggest charity bike ride is coming to Mandurah this weekend.
The MACA Cancer 200 Ride for Research will kick off from Optus Stadium on Saturday morning.
Nearly 1600 riders will cover a 200km course to Mandurah and back to Perth.
Over $8 million has been raised so far with the money going to Perth’s Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research to support the investigation into the hardest to treat cancers.
Director of the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research Professor Peter Leedman AO said vital new cancer research will be able to go ahead because of the funds raised by the ride.
“This will make a substantial difference to our cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute," Professor Leedman said.
“We will be able to attract and retain even more of the best scientists from across the globe and support them with sophisticated equipment to enable further discoveries about cancer and help develop new treatments."
Over a thousand tents have been set up at Hall Park in Mandurah where cyclists will sleep the night before returning to Optus Stadium on Sunday.
Motorists are being urged to keep an eye out for riders on the roads.
