Baldivis member Reece Whitby has announced a major boost for local mental health services for children and young people.
The Rockingham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service is set to receive $250,000 worth of upgrades from the State government.
Rockingham General Hospital will also receive funding for upgrades, with over $900,000 allocated.
It is expected the upgrade will create work for hundreds of local tradespeople.
Local patients will also benefit from other major funding allocations including $550,000 for Peel Health Campus, nearly $3 million for King Edward Memorial Maternity Hospital and over $23 million for Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
The funding it set to be allocated over the next three years, with work prioritised based on operational need.
Mr Whitby said he is glad local services are set to receive boosts.
“Rockingham General Hospital is our major local health facility and this upgrade will improve conditions for both staff and patients," he said.
“It’s great to see local health services improved as a result of the McGowan Government getting on top of the State’s finances and reducing debt.”
