A man has been charged over an alleged robbery in Meadow Springs where a man was struck in the face with a gun.
Sometime between 2am and 2.30am on Thursday, March 28, the 28-year-old victim was sitting in his car, which was parked at the corner of St Pierre Loop and Newbridge Street, when he was approached by a group of people.
One of the men from the group got into the man's car and allegedly threatened him with a gun, before hitting him in the face with the firearm.
The victim suffered serious facial injuries including a fractured eye socket and an injury to his nose.
The offender allegedly stole several items from the victim before getting out of the car.
He was last seen driving off with the group he had arrived with.
Police then executed a search warrant at a home on Sherlock Close in Gosnells where they found a vehicle related to the Meadow Springs incident parked outside.
A man was located inside the car and was arrested.
A search of the vehicle revealed items of interest to the Meadow Springs investigation.
The arrested man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment on a pre-existing gunshot wound.
Police say the wound is not related to the incident and it appeared to be several weeks old.
A 26-year-old man has been charged with aggravated armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and gains benefit by fraud.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
The investigation into the identity of the other people involved continues.
