A man caught driving almost 130 kilometres without a licence faced Mandurah Magistrates Court today.
Peter James Lothian pled guilty to exceeding the speed limit between 20 and 29 kilometres an hour, and having no authority to drive.
Police caught the 43-year-old driving at 128km/h in a 110km/h zone in Highbury on September 25, 2018.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Edwards said he had six prior convictions for driving without a licence.
Mr Lothian's reasoning for driving at the time was that he just wanted to get home.
His duty lawyer told the court that his partner was driving but felt tispy so he took over.
Magistrate Anne Longden said his driving offences had advanced to where a stage of imprisonment was necessary, but she was willing to suspend the sentence.
Mr Lothian was sentenced to seven months prison with a 12 month suspension, his licence was suspended for a further nine months, and he was fined $400.
