A 33-year-old man has faced a Rockingham Court, accused of threatening the life of WA Premier Mark McGowan.
According to the West Australian, Gavin Michael Higgs appeared in the Rockingham Magistrate's Court on Friday charged with threatening to kill the Premier at his home.
Police say the incident occurred on Wednesday April 21, around 8:30pm.
It's alleged Mr Higgs walked past the Premier’s Rockingham address and threatened his life while his wife and children were also home.
The police were called and arrested Higgs a short time later.
The Magistrate granted Mr Higgs bail on a $1000 surety, but he was remanded in custody after being unable to meet the requirements.
He is due back in Rockingham Magistrate’s Court on May 28.
In a statement, the Premier thanked WA Police for their swift response.
“My whole family was there at the time, but everyone is OK and that’s the main thing,” he said.
