The safety of the community garden has been boosted by funding from Pinjarra's Alcoa aluminum refinery.

As part of the Alcoa Community Partnership program, non-profit organisation Mandurah Community Garden, has teamed up with Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery to boost facilities at the facility.

Funding new equipment and supplies has improved safety at the garden, enhancing the experience for visitors and community members.

Improvements to the garden included the purchase of hats and sun block, protective gardening equipment, tools and a new first aid kit.

Alcoa’s Pinjarra Alumina Refinery Manager Mark Hodgson said the upgrades to the community garden are proof that together a difference can be made in the Peel community.

“Supporting local projects t hat promote physical activity and environmental sustainability are a strong focus for Alcoa," he said.

"Our Refinery is very proud to support the Mandurah Community Garden."
