A man accused of trying to rape an elderly woman in her Greenfields home has appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court.
Shannon James Fisher allegedly broke into the retirement village unit while the 81-year-old woman was asleep about 2.10am on Sunday.
He allegedly grabbed her and tried to sexually assault her, but she fought back.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises to her face and body.
Police later released a CCTV image of the suspect and a short time later Mr Fisher was arrested.
He has been charged with attempted aggravated sexual penetration without consent and aggravated home burglary.
Mr Fisher was remanded in custody and will reappear in court on May 13.
