Mandurah and Rockingham are among the top 10 suburbs in WA where properties are selling at a loss.
The West Australian reports, statistics from RP Data CoreLogic show more than one in three houses (36.1 per cent) sold for less than their purchase prices in the June quarter.
It is the highest number since RP Data's records began in 1996.
The City of Perth topped the list with 55 per cent of properties selling below their purchase price, a median value loss of $129,500.
Mandurah came in at seventh (41.3 per cent) with home owners losing an average $61,000.
Rockingham was ninth with 39 per cent of houses or units sold at a loss, a median value loss of $60,000.
