Member for Dawesville Zak Kirkup has called a community meeting to discuss ways to reduce the number of shark attacks off local beaches.
It comes after Noah Symmans, 20, was bitten on the leg by a shark at Pyramids Beach on Sunday morning.
He was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital and will undergo surgery today.
The Albany man suffered bite wounds to his ankle and foot.

Fortunately his injuries were not life-threatening.
It was the third attack at Pyramids Beach in four years.
A 13-year-old boy was bitten on the leg in 2014 while an 18-year-old man was bitten on the foot in 2015.
"Like most Western Australian's, I was particularly shocked to see that yet another shark attack had occurred off our coastline," Mr Kirkup said.
"Enough is enough, more needs to be done. That's why I am hosting a community meeting this Saturday. I am asking all members of the community who are worried about the increased number of shark attacks off our coast to come along and have their say about what to do next."
Meeting details:
WHEN: 9:30AM Saturday 17 November 2018
