The brand new Sheoak Grove Primary in Baldivis has officially opened.
More than 250 students are enrolled from kindergarten to Year 6 in the brand new state-of-the-art $16.3 million primary school.
There are 27 foundation staff members at the brand new school, including the principal, deputy principal, teachers, administration staff, education assistants, cleaners, a gardener and a library officer.
Sheoak Grove Primary School has three classroom blocks, an inclusive education classroom, art room and a covered assembly area with a canteen, music room and sports storeroom.
In addition, a specialised early childhood block has five classrooms with an innovative outdoor learning spaces.
Students and families are also enjoying a nature play area, grassed play spaces, oval, sports courts and a cricket pitch.
The name Sheoak has language and cultural connections to the local Noongar culture. The name Grove relates to a nearby stand of Sheoak trees.
"Baldivis is a rapidly growing suburb, with many families moving into the area. It's important we provide the best facilities for our local kids to learn in," Premier Mark McGowan said.
