Petrol prices soar

Average petrol prices have jumped 21 cents per litre to 151.4 today.

The increase was thought to be linked to drone attack on an oil plant in Saudi Arabia but Fuelwatch WA manager Ben Derecki said that is not the case.

He told The West Australian Perth's petrol prices were linked to the Singapore benchmark.

Some Coles Express sites are selling unleaded petrol for 167.9 cpl today, a price hike of 36 cpl.

The cheapest petrol in the Mandurah area can be found at Coles Express Halls Head and Singleton for 132.9.

Further south, Placid Ark Roadhouse in Coolup is selling unleaded fuel for 133.9 and Coles Express in Waikiki has the cheapest fuel in the Rockingham area at 132.9.
