Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Rockingham earlier this week.
A man attempted to leave a crowded store in Council Avenue on Monday just after 4pm without paying for his items.
When he was challenged, the man produced a small axe from his shorts and swung it at staff members before running out of the store.
He was last seen running west through the Read Street underpass.
The man is described as fair skinned, slim built and in his early 30's with dark blonde hair.
He was wearing a red t-shirt and dark shorts at the time.
