A sawn-off rifle and ammunition have been found in the yard of a Warnbro home following an earlier police chase in Hillman.
Police stopped a Ford Falcon sedan on Calume Street in Hillman around 10.50pm on Thursday.
As the police vehicle stopped behind the Ford, the vehicle sped off in an erratic manner.
Officers followed the car but lost sight of it near Darile Street.
The same vehicle was later spotted on Safety Bay Road in Waikiki and police again activated their emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop it.
The chase was then aborted due to the reckless nature the Falcon was being driven.
Police later spotted a person running along Nome Place in Warnbro and then found the Falcon abandoned on Lima Close.
A bag containing a sawn-off rifle and a live round were found in the yard of a home on Nome Place.
Police are now looking for the driver and any occupants of the vehicle.
