Rockingham Detectives have charged six people as a result of their investigation into an assault and stealing incident that occurred in Naval Base on Sunday, 13 May 2018.
Around 6:30pm, a group of teenage males aged between 15 and 18 years set up camp on Horse Beach to spend the night fishing. Sometime after midnight, it is alleged the group of six men walked into the camp site and threatened the teenagers, demanding their fishing rods.
It is alleged one of the men struck an 18 year old victim to the head causing a laceration that required two staples to close. It is further alleged another man threatened another 18 year old victim with a knife. The men allegedly forced the victims to lie on the ground whilst they searched through their bags before walking away with the fishing rods and other personal property belonging to the victims.
All six offenders have each been charged with eight counts of Aggravated Armed Robberies and one count of Unlawful Wounding.
