A teenager has been charged over a rooftop standoff with police in Mandurah.
Officers were called to a residential complex on Ormsby Terrace around 1.45am on Sunday following reports a person had climbed onto the roof.
The 17-year-old boy allegedly began throwing roof tiles at police and vehicles, refusing to climb down.
He also allegedly damaged television aerials and skylights during the standoff, which lasted several hours.
During negotiations, a resident of one of the units managed to grab the teenager as he crossed a balcony railing.
He was restrained by the resident before police took him into custody.
The 17-year-old Armadale boy has been charged with nine counts of criminal damage or destruction of property, two counts of assaulting a public officer and one count of trespass.
He appeared in the Perth Children's Court on Sunday.
