A total fire ban is in place for several local government areas today due to extreme fire weather.
The ban includes the Shire's of Murray, Serpentine-Jarrahdale and Waroona.
Open fires for the purpose of cooking, camping or outdoor entertainment are not allowed including fire pits and bonfires.
Off-road activity using a four-wheel drive, quad bike, motorcycle, bobcat or similar vehicle is also prohibited, except for agricultural purposes.
People who breach the fire ban could face a fine of up to $25,000 or 12 months jail or both.
The City's of Mandurah and Rockingham are not included in the total fire ban.
