Locals will have the opportunity to get active and try a new sport at the City of Rockingham’s 2022 Summer Sports Promotion Day.
The free event will be held at Mike Barnett Sports Complex on Sunday August 21 from 10am – 12pm.
Attendees will be able to meet representatives from local sporting clubs who will be providing demonstrations to showcase their respective sporting codes.
Visitors will be able to get involved in the action and find out what sport they would like to play this summer.
Mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged community members to join in the fun and find out more about how they can get involved in their local community.
“Sport and recreation plays an important role in developing positive physical and mental health outcomes, and the 2022 Summer Sports Promotion Day provides attendees with an opportunity to engage with a variety of sporting codes,” Mayor Hamblin said.
“A key part of the City’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018 – 2022 is focused on providing development services to local sporting groups and opportunities to increase participation in community sport.
