A woman accused of murdering her roommate at an aged care facility in Port Kennedy has appeared in court.
Suzanne Margaret Lupica, 75, allegedly killed an 88-year-old woman at the Bethanie Waters Aged Care facility about 4.20am on Friday, January 24.
They had been sharing a room for four days.
WA Police have not revealed how the victim allegedly died.
Ms Lupica appeared in the Northbridge Magistrates Court on January 26.
She did not apply for bail and is next due to appear in the Stirling Garden Supreme Court on February 19.
"Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased," Bethanie CEO Roule Jones said in a statement.
"Our staff responded quickly and professionally when the alarm was raised, and followed all Bethanie procedures. We wish to reassure the public that no Bethanie staff were involved in this incident. The safety, wellbeing, and care of our residents remain our highest priority.
"Bethanie continues to fully cooperate with the police investigation, and as the matter is now before the courts, we are unable to provide further comment."
