The City of Rockingham’s biggest ever Youth Beach Party is happening on Friday January 17 at the Rockingham Beach foreshore from 12pm till 3pm.
Delivered by the Rockingham Youth Centre, this event is exclusively for young people aged 12 to 17.
The fully supervised event features free burgers, sausage sizzles and slushies, a foam pit, beach volleyball, a water slide, a roaming photo booth, food trucks and live performances from past Breakthrough Music Competition contestants.
Youth service providers Helping Minds, headspace, Stephen Michael Foundation, and Royal Life Saving WA will be there to provide information about their support services, and the Youth Disability Advocacy Network will be helping deliver the sensory and chill out zone, where tactile items and noise-cancelling headphones will be provided.
Beach matting is installed, two beach wheelchairs and a beach walker can be borrowed from the City for the event, and there is a Changing Places facility in Churchill Park.
City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said the annual Youth Beach Party is one of the City’s most popular youth events.
“This event is a great opportunity for our young people to dance to the hottest tunes, play some really cool games, get some free food, and enjoy a fabulous afternoon with their friends at one of our most gorgeous beach locations.”
The City’s Youth Development team and contracted security staff will be on site to ensure everyone can safely enjoy this smoke-free, vape-free, and alcohol-free event.
Bag checks will be conducted upon entry.
The Youth Beach Party is free to attend but registration is required.
Tickets are available on the City's website at rockingham.wa.gov.au/youthbeachparty
