The voice of Siri was originally recorded in 2005—before the iPhone even existed.
Voice actress Susan Bennett recorded thousands of phrases and syllables for a project that eventually became the original Siri voice on Apple devices in 2011. She didn’t even know her voice would become the Siri until friends recognized her on their iPhones!
Wild to think one of the most iconic digital voices in pop culture was created six years before it ever spoke to us.
