Today is World Obesity Day!

Obesity just means someone’s body has more weight than is healthy, and it can happen to anyone - even kids - if we don’t balance what we eat and how much we move.

Here’s a fun fact: did you know kids who play outside for just 60 minutes a day help keep their bodies strong, their hearts happy and their energy high? That’s right - running, jumping, racing the dog, or even dancing in your bedroom actually helps your body stay healthy.

Eating colourful foods like fruits and veggies also gives your body the power fuel it needs.... like greens for your brain, oranges for your immune system and berries for natural sweetness without too much sugar.

So on World Obesity Day, the big takeaway is simple: have fun being active and make healthy choices that feel good.

Little steps... like jumping around during your favourite song or choosing an apple instead of lollies... all add up to stronger bodies and brighter days.

And remember: getting outside and moving is so much fun. It’s like giving your body a high-five!
