When do you put up your Christmas Tree?!

Gunners & Ali - Ali's Random Facts

Monday, 24 November 2025 - 3 minutes

Christmas this year lands on a very cool date - 25/12/25 - a once-in-a-lifetime number pattern that feels almost too perfect for the silly season.

And here in Mandurah, Christmas traditions are already kicking in.

Most Aussies put up their tree on December 1st, although the traditional date is actually the first Sunday of Advent... anytime from November 27 to December 3. But have you noticed people in Australia are putting up Christmas decorations earlier and earlier with some getting festive in early November due to a desire to prolong feelings of joy and nostalgia, combatting stress, and being influenced by earlier retail displays and the festive season creeping into the year.

The act of decorating can also be a way to boost mood by releasing dopamine and signalling friendliness to neighbours.

And Christmas music? We say we wait until December… but retail stores go full Mariah by mid-November. We see you. We hear you. We can’t escape you. So we thought we’d join you… we put a poll up on our Facebook page to see what is your fave Christmas tunes... and we are officially rolling out the first song of the season with the most requested one - Little Drummer Boy by Bing Crosby & David Bowie.

But Gunners & Ali really love the Will Ferrell & John C. Reilley cover of this fabulous song.
