Aussie culinary icon Peter Russell-Clarke has passed away at 89.
His family confirmed on Sunday afternoon he died on Thursday following complications from a stroke.
Before he became Australia’s most lovable stirrer in the kitchen, Peter kicked off his career as a political cartoonist. But it was the 1980s that made him a household name, hosting almost 1000 episodes of ABC’s five-minute cooking show Come and Get It.
With his signature "G’day!" he made cooking fun, fast… and just a little bit naughty. Always winking at the camera, he brought joy to generations. He also penned over 35 cookbooks, cooked for royalty, and repped Aussie produce before it was cool.
So, let’s raise a wooden spoon in his honour - Peter Russell Clarke - a true national treasure.
On Friday afternoon the sad news dropped that Australian actor Julian McMahon died at just 56 after a private battle with cancer.
The son of former PM Sir William McMahon, Julian rose to fame on Home and Away, before global success in Charmed, Nip/Tuck and Fantastic Four.
His final film, The Surfer with Nicolas Cage, was shot in Margaret River. A charismatic talent remembered worldwide.
16 years after their split, Oasis officially reunited on stage on July 4th, with brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher able to tolerate each other long enough for a full reunion show in Cardiff, Wales..
