Beloved former Aussie Idol singer Courtney Murphy has revealed to Perth Now he’s “not beating this” after an 18-month battle with late-stage bowel cancer.
Despite undergoing regular chemotherapy, he’s still performing with brothers Chris & Kieran for The Murphy Brothers and just announced they're opening for Crowded House at the Red Hot Summer Tour on December 6... plus working on a new album!
Courtney told Perth Now, “I’m not beating this, I’m just going to be as strong as long as I can, and that’s all I’m going to focus on, because there’s two truths happening at once. One is, I’m going to pass away at some point, but I’ll deal with that when that comes. So right now, the other truth is I’m here, and I’m going to put out as much creative output as I possibly can with these two amazing human beings next to me.”
We wish Courtney and his family every blessing in the world.
Television legend June Lockhart has passed away at the age of 100.
Best known as Ruth Martin on Lassie and Dr. Maureen Robinson on Lost in Space, Lockhart was one of TV’s earliest and most beloved stars.
Her remarkable career spanned decades, with roles in Petticoat Junction, General Hospital, and Beverly Hills 90210.
A two-time Emmy nominee, she earned not one, but two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - for film and television - a lasting tribute to a truly timeless performer.
Vale, June Lockhart.
Johnny Depp is reportedly making a big-screen comeback.
He’s in talks to play Ebenezer Scrooge in a dark, horror-style remake of A Christmas Carol, directed by Ti West and produced by Paramount Pictures.
If the rumour are true, Ebenezer is set for release in cinemas in November 2026, marking Depp’s return to major studio films.
Harry Potters’ Tom Felton stars in the Action Sci-Fi movie ‘Altered’.
In a world ruled by genetically enhanced humans, two outcasts dare to fight back. Against corrupt leaders and a system built on inequality, they risk everything to bring justice to a world that’s forgotten what it means to be human.
Altered is in cinemas November 21.
Taylor Swift could soon add “Hall of Famer” to her list of achievements!
She’s been nominated for the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame, alongside P!nk, LL Cool J, Kenny Loggins, Sarah McLachlan, and KISS legends Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.
With over 20 years of albums like Love Story, Folkolore, and Anti-Hero, Taylor’s proven she can turn heartbreak into art - and lyrics into legend.
