On This Day... the Eifel Tower opened to the public in Paris in 1889, Daimler company built a motor car for Emil Jellinek and named it after his daughter Mercedes in 1901, the Australian Grand Prix was held for the first time at Cowes, Phillip Island in 1929, EMI - the record label - was formed in 1931, Oklahoma, the musical opened on Broadway in 1943, Australia's first Hard Rock Cafe opened in Sydney in 1989, Bruce Springsteen's albums Human Touch and Lucky Town were both released today in 1992, we lost Brandon Lee, American actor and son of Bruce Lee, who was accidentally shot on the set of The Crow in 1993, and the last Blockbuster Video store in Australia closed in 2019.
