Police are urging the mother of a newborn baby to come forward.
A baby boy was found in a box outside a Booragoon medical centre yesterday.
It's believed the child was abandoned less than 24 hours after being born.
The baby spent the night in the Perth Children's Hospital and is doing well.
The boy still had his umbilical cord attached, and was left with a handwritten note asking for the boy to be well looked after.
Concerns are held for his mother as she may require medical attention.
Police are urging her to come forward and stress she is not in trouble, they just want to check she is ok after giving birth.
If she does not want to contact police, they urge her to contact the Department of Communities or Crisis Care.
Anyone with information should contact police on 131 444, or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers.
