Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section have charged a 22-year-old man, as a result of their investigation into a fatal hit and run incident that occurred in Golden Bay in November 2020.
About 2.45am, Sunday 22 November 2020, police received reports of a male lying in the northbound lanes of Mandurah Road, just north of the Dampier Drive intersection.
The pedestrian, a 37-year-old man, was declared deceased at the scene.
Following public broadcasts from several media outlets, police immediately received reports from members of the community. As a result of information received, on Wednesday 30 April 2025, police located and arrested the 22-year-old man on Milligan Street in Perth.
A 22-year-old man from Secret Harbour, who was 17-years-old at the time of the incident, has been
charged with the following offences:
• 1 x Driver Failed to Stop and Ensure Assistance received after Incident Occasioning Death
• 1 x Driver fail to report an Incident Occasioning Death or Grievous Bodily Harm
He is due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court on Thursday 1 May 2025.
