Between Sunday, December 26 and Friday, January 14, essential works will be underway as part of Metronet's Thornlie-Cockburn Link project.
The works will include moving the Mandurah Line tracks to the edges of the rail corridor to make room for the new Thornlie-Cockburn Link tracks.
The Christmas-New Year period was chosen for the shutdown because it is the quietest time for public transport and the freeway (where train replacement bus services will operate).

Train replacement buses will operate between Aubin Grove Station and a temporary bus station at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, known as PCEC.
The buses will be scheduled to match the train timetable as closely as possible, however, since buses operate on roads instead of dedicated tracks, they take longer and are affected by traffic.
Express buses to and from PCEC will operate from Aubin Grove, Cockburn Central, Murdoch and Bull Creek stations.
The Thornlie-Cockburn Link will provide a higher level of public transport service to Perth’s southern suburbs.
The new 17.5km line includes two new stations at Nicholson Road and Ranford Road as well as upgrades to Thornlie Station, Cockburn Central Station and Stadium Station.
