 
                                    A bushfire that has burnt through thousands of hectares of land in the Margaret River region is believed to have been deliberately lit.
Detectives from Strike Force Vulcan say the blaze, which started on Wednesday, may have been ignited near Mammoth Cave which is accessed via Caves Road and is near the border of Boranup and Forest Grove suburbs.
To date, the fire has burnt though around 5500 hectares of land.

A bushfire watch and act remains in place for people bounded by Calgardup Brook to the north, Caves Road to the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park boundary to the north and east, Hamelin Bay Road West and the National Park boundary to the south and the coastline to the west.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Mammoth Cave on Wednesday, December 8, or who has dash-cam or mobile phone vision of people or vehicles in the area at the time.
