A 49-year-old man has been charged after allegedly shooting his neighbour's dog.
Police will allege a red cloud kelpie x doberman named Splinter wandered onto the man's Jurien Bay Vista property around 12.30pm on Sunday.
As the owner called the dog back, the man came out of his property and allegedly shot the dog with a rifle.
Splinter was rushed to the Dongara Veterinary Clinic but died before arriving.
Jurien Bay Police allegedly seized seven rifles, a shotgun, ammunition and drug paraphernalia from the man's home.
He has been charged with a string of offences including animal cruelty, possessing unlicensed firearms and discharging a firearm to the danger of the public.
The Jurien Bay man will appear in the Geraldton Magistrates Court on September 3.
