Hoons have torn up freshly laid turf at the Baldivis District Sporting Complex over the weekend.
City of Rockingham councillor Matt Whitfield said the offenders smashed through some fencing on Friday night and ripped up the lawn.
"There are several cameras on the site so that will be very useful (assuming the car had plates or was not stolen)," he posted on Facebook.
"Thankfully whilst the damage looks bad it is a long time way till these fields will be used and top dressing and extra work should see these repaired in no time."

About 72,000sqm of turf, worth $833,000, will eventually be laid at the complex which is equivalent to four MCG ovals.
