WA Police have charged a 44-year-old man after he allegedly broke into a woman's house and threatened her with a pair of scissors overnight.
The incident occurred around 7:40pm, when the woman awoke to find the man in her Perth home threatening her with a pair of scissors.
Several police units arrived on the scene and commenced a search of the apartment complex and surrounding area.
Information was received from a nearby resident that a man may have entered what is believed to be an empty apartment.
Officers attended the apartment and located the 44-year-old man, who was taken into custody.
He now faces a string of charges including one count of aggravated home burglary and commit, common assault, and being armed in a way that may cause fear.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates court today.
