Police have charged a 31-year-old man who allegedly rammed a police car with a stolen vehicle in Condingup, before crashing in to a tree.
On Tuesday, the Toyota Landcruiser utility was allegedly stolen from a residence in Castletown, which was later detected by Esperance Police on Dunn Rock Road.
Following serval failed attempts to track the vehicle, officers spotted it around 3:30pm on Parmango Road in Condingup.
An attempt was made to stop the vehicle, however it will be alleged the driver failed to stop and the attempt to stop the vehicle was aborted.
A police vehicle was positioned further along Parmango Road, ready to deploy a tyre deflation device.
It will be alleged the driver caused the stolen vehicle to be driven directly at the parked police vehicle, crossing to the wrong side of the road to directly ram the police vehicle.
The impact caused the police vehicle to roll onto its roof, and the Landcruiser crossed back to the correct side of the road and crashed into a tree.
Officers immediately rescued the man from the crashed vehicle and provided emergency first aid.
It will be further alleged during this time one officer was struck and another was spat on.
The 31-year-old man has been charged with a string of offences including steal motor vehicle and drive recklessly and assault public officer.
He was refused bail in the Esperance Magistrates Court on Wednesday and will reappear in a Kalgoorlie Court in July.

A short time later the stolen vehicle was detected being driven east on Merivale Road, before officers again lost sight of it. About 3:30pm the stolen vehicle was detected on Parmango Road, Condingup. The 31-year-old man has since been charged with: - Steal Motor Vehicle with Intent to use without the Consent of Owner - Steal Motor Vehicle and Drive Recklessly - Unlawful act or omission with intent to harm (endangering life, health or safety of any person) - Assault Public Officer - Assault Public Officer (Prescribed Circumstances, Adult) - Fail to Stop - No Authority to Drive - Breach of Bail - Breach of Protective Bail Conditions. He was refused bail and appeared in the Esperance Magistrates Court yesterday, Wednesday 26 May 2021. He is next due to appear in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Thursday 1 July 2021.
