A man is recovering in hospital after being hit by a car in Cooloongup.

The man was struck by the vehicle, described as a light coloured ute, on Annean Loop around 5.30am on Saturday.

The driver fled the scene.

The victim received a serious leg injury and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone who was in the area of Annean Loop and Neale Place, or anyone with dashcam vision in that area.
