Major Fraud Squad detectives have charged a former Parish Priest as a result of their investigation into alleged stealing incidents.
Detectives believe between 2014 and 2017 the man, who during this time was a Parish Priest at a Catholic Church in Subiaco, stole $252,000 of church funds that he had access to.
The man from Hamilton Hill has been charged with six counts of Stealing and is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
