A whale carcass has prompted a shark alert for some beaches in the South West.
The carcass washed up on Outer Harbour Beach in Bunbury on Sunday.
Authorities say the dead whale could attract sharks, with surfers and swimmers urged to stay out of the water.
It is set to be removed today and taken to the local tip.
If you see a shark, report it to Water Police on 9442 8600.
