A woman has been shot dead at a house south of Perth.
Police were called to the residence on Scouler Way in Bateman about 6.55pm on Friday with reports someone had been shot and a man at the front of the home also appeared to be injured.
Witnesses told police a firearm could also be seen.
Officers found two people, a man and a woman, injured at the address.
Paramedics attended and confirmed the woman, aged in her 50s, was dead.
The injured man, aged in his 60s, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he remains under police guard.
A gun was located at the property and seized.
Police say the pair are known to each other and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
