The nominations for the 2024 Academy Awards have been announced with Oppenheimer leading the way with 13 nominations including Best Picture, and Best Cinematography; Christopher Nolan is up for Best Director, Cillian Murphy for Best Actor, and Emily Blunt for Best Supporting Actress. 

Poor Things followed with 11 nominations and is up for Best Picture, Best, Best Actress for Emma Stone, and Best Supporting Actor for Mark Ruffalo. 
Other movies up for Best Picture are American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest. 

Barbie - The Box office smash of the season – was nominated for 8 nominations but its star – Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig were snubbed for Best Actress and Best Director.

But Ryan Gosling has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ken, and the song I’m Just Ken has been nominated for Best Song. 

The Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 10th at the Dolby Theatre in LA and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel

With the good comes the bad – and the Razzie nominations are also out.

The Golden Raspberry Awards honour the worst movies and performances of the year…

Leading the charge was Expendables 4 which got 7 nominations including Worst Supporting Actress (Megan Fox) and Worst Supporting Actor (Sylvester Stallone)

The Exorcist: Believer, and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey were right behind with 7 nominations apiece. 

Some megastars also received Worst Actor and Actress nods including Helen Mirren, Salma Hayek, Russell Crowe, Vin Diesel, Chris Evans, and Jennifer Lopez.

Winners for the Razzies will be announced the night before the Academy Awards on March 9. 

And the official trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender has dropped. The live-action series inspired by the animated version, centres on the adventures of Aang and his friends who fight to save the world by defeating the Fire Nation. Avatar: The Last Airbender. arrives on Netflix on February 22nd.
