Community members are invited to the City of Rockingham’s 2022 Seniors and Carers Expo, which will be held on Friday, October 7 from 10am – 2pm at Mike Barnett Sports Complex (MBSC).
The Seniors and Carers Expo is one of the City’s most popular annual events and will feature more than 100 free stalls and activities from a wide range of groups, organisations, government departments, and businesses – helping to connect seniors and carers with support and services that are available across the community.
Free parking is available at MBSC, with priority to be given to ACROD permit holders.
There will be overflow parking on Dixon Road Reserve and an accessible shuttle bus will be able to transport visitors from the oval to the event.
Visitors attending the expo via public transport can catch the train to Rockingham Station and hop on the 555 bus to the venue. Buses 548, 549 and 551 also travel past MBSC.
Mayor Deb Hamblin said the Seniors and Carers Expo was the largest event the City runs for older people each year.
“The delivery of the Seniors and Carers Expo is a key part of our Seniors Strategy and it provides visitors with easy access to valuable information on services and programs that can help older people live a safe and fulfilling life,” Mayor Hamblin said.
“For 10 years the City has been a proud member of the World Health Organisation’s Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities, and events like the Seniors and Carers Expo are a major part of why Rockingham continues to be an Age-Friendly community.
“The City gratefully acknowledges the support of our event sponsors including Unicare Health, Rockingham Kwinana Mobility Rehabilitation, Perth Care and Companion Company, Bee Free Mobility, and Curtin FM. Curtin FM will also broadcast live from the event.”
