Mandurah's newest giant has been unveiled.
Yaburgurt Cirkelstone replaces Vivi Cirklestone who was destroyed in a suspected arson attack at the Coodanup site in December.
"Located on the land of the Bindjareb Noongar people, our newest Giant has been named in consultation with Bindjareb Elders, and in honour of a respected Elder from our region – Yaburgurt (George) Winjan," Mayor Rhys Williams said.
"He places a circle of rocks around those that his predecessor, Vivi Cirklestone, left – a circle of strength and protection, in honour of not just Vivi, but also the sacred land he sits upon."
Facilitated by FORM, Yaburgurt Cirkelstone was built by Danish artist Thomas Dambo and a team of volunteers.
