There have been no developments in the search for Mr Angel overnight after Police yesterday recovered the missing kayak, paddle and Personal Locator Beacon.
The Police Airwing & Water Police have been re-deployed to the search location this morning to resume the search. Mounted Section will be deployed to conduct a land search of the beachfront.
59-year-old man Stephen Angel, who is from the Dwellingup area, has been identified as the registered owner of the Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) that was activated. Despite extensive inquiries with Mr Angel’s family and friends he has not been located and he is believed to be the missing person.
It is believed the man was kayaking in the Point Peron area in the morning of Wednesday 03 April 2019. Shortly after 11:00 am a personal locating beacon activated resulting in a significant search involving Search and Rescue aircraft including the RAC Rescue Helicopter and Police Air Wing and search vessels from WA Water Police and Rockingham Volunteer Marine Rescue.
